Average temperatures on Mars are lower than those that are experienced on Earth, and this fact has been known for quite some time. However, new evidence suggests that the average temperature on Mars may have been significantly higher in the past, and that the planet may be capable of supporting life.

If these results prove to be supportive of an earth-like planet, then scientists will have something to go on in their search for conclusive proof of the existence of life on Mars.

If you were to travel to the planet Mars, what would be your average temperature? You probably would not even survive the trip. Yet, if you do survive a journey to Mars, you will be amazed at the lush green landscapes, the amazing scenery, the incredible buildings and the amazing pyramids that are on the planet today. It is hard to believe that these structures were built by ancient people hundreds or even thousands of years ago.

The fact that life does exist on Mars is one good thing for us on Earth, because we do not need to make life in other planets. They also believe that there may be no atmosphere to protect the surface of the planet from solar winds or ultraviolet radiation.
In fact, the temperature around the red planet of Mars could be considered a freezing planet, unless of course it has a thick atmosphere to protect the surface of the planet from solar wind. If you were to go on a space exploration mission to Mars, you might become seriously ill with the cold. This is because the average temperature on the red planet is minus zero and you cannot have human bodily processes that are geared towards raising the average temperature. Therefore, you might become seriously ill and die right away. Please consider all this.
Why Is Mars So Cold?
The average temperature on Mars is slightly less than the Earth’s average temperature, and the planet does have an atmosphere, but that is not as it is on Earth. Although there are some similarities between the atmosphere and that of Earth, the atmosphere on Mars is much thinner than Earth’s, and the gravity is also substantially lower. On the other hand, perhaps a mining colony or an exploration mission could use the planet’s average temperature to determine mineral deposits and find other types of resources.
If an unmanned space probe landed on Mars and measured the average temperature, it might be able to conclude if there were any liquid water on the surface and determine whether the clouds are too thin to support human life. Perhaps clouds are too thick, or they lack enough volume to allow moisture to be absorbed. This research would be useful for cloud-land based navigation for future explorers of the Red Planet, such as rovers. It could also be used in astronomy, helping to determine the composition of our solar system and looking for habitable zones on other planets. The research could also inform the study of planetary atmospheres around other stars and galaxies. By measuring the composition of our Mars atmosphere we can learn if it is hospitable to alien life.
Average temperatures on Mars do indeed vary greatly from day to day, but they remain a cold desert. The fact that this fifth planet from the sun has an atmosphere and can be seen by NASA and amateur astronomers is no consolation to those who doubt that life really does exist on Mars. Perhaps they should try visiting the planet and doing a little research before coming to conclusions. One thing is for certain, if life does exist on Mars, it is extremely inhospitable to humans and all other life forms. However, we do know that the Red Planet has an atmosphere, and that is most likely the reason that it is so cold.
